In what could almost be described as a man bites dog story, Australian researchers have criticized Australian doctors for not prescribing enough pills. The study released this week surveyed 322 General Practitioners (family physicians) looking at their management of patients over 55 with risk factors for cardiovascular (heart) disease. Each doctor filled out a survey on 15-20 consecutive patients. The total number of patients was 5293, which 29% had established heart disease and 22% had risk factors.

Several of these studies yield the similar leads to infer that men who consumed about 30 gm (about one oz.) of fish daily were built with a 50 % lower likelihood of dying from coronary disease. Additionally, men who had no less than one fish meal weekly stood a 52 percent lower probability of sudden death. Even eating one fish meal every 2 to 3 weeks was protective. Omega-3 fats protect the guts in many ways. The reason for heart attacks and strokes could be the hardening from the arteries or Atherosclerosis, which is caused by plaque forming about the walls of the arteries. With time, increasingly more plaque material accumulates, which in turn causes the artery being very narrow and unable to provide enough blood circulation to the center or the brain.

If consumed in large doses, aspirin like all other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug has got the possibility to cause blood pressure. Since aspirin inhibits prostaglandins, kidneys may take a hit because the vessels in kidney are regulated by these chemicals. Prostaglandins control the dilatation of vessels in other areas from the body also. The deleterious effect of aspirin on kidneys is well established scientifically though the effect on other vessels of the body inside causation of hypertension is debated. Initial research has shown that aspirin could potentially cause hypertension.

There are scientific evidences to prove that tobacco use can be a major cause for (heart) diseases. Though many diseases have links to smoking, heart disease is a lot more serious which is the most common reason for death. Studies show that heavy smokers usually produce a (heart) disease at a younger age. Sudden cardiac death is amongst the most serious outcomes of smoking. American Heart Association specifies that smokers have two or 4x more likelihood of developing a heart disease than non smokers.

If your doctor prescribes you medicine, then you certainly should know definitely how it's for. You should also know about the possible side effects with the drug. It should be clear for your requirements should you just need to take the drug for a short moment of your energy or if you need to go on it for the rest of your health already. Many in the drugs available have serious unwanted side effects so you ought to know for certain what you are taking.
