Dropcaps formed back in 2004 in Tokyo, Japan.

Dropcaps released their debut album in 2006 titled "So Much Wrong in the World" off of FORENOON Records (a subsidiary of Theory & Practice Records) Then, the labels a home for bands such as FACT, Nature Living, 13 Rounds and etc.

Upon release of their 1st album, they embarked on a national tour throughout Japan. With the tour being a success, they finished strong with their last stop at Shibuya GIG-ANTIC, they're known stomping grounds, playing to sold out crowd and called back for an encore. The track "Thursday" was licensed to 4 Cards Snowboards to be used as the theme song to the company's Showcase DVD.

Shortly after, they started MIGHTY MONK RECORDS, then sought to release a split EP with Tallahassee's very own HOPESICK! Their split EP titled "Dropcaps X Hopsick" was released in Japan as well as the United States in April of 2007. The 6 song EP featured all new tracks by both bands.

In June of 2010, with their first release in 3 years they released their 2nd full album, "Nothing But Trust" A album packed with 7 songs featuring a new line up as well as sounds headed in a new direction but still reminiscent of their roots.
