Nick Blekas and Matt Arntsen began the saga that is Calypsis in the summer of 2008. You may remember the previous incarnations of Calypsis that have come along these past few years: Arsenic, Short Circuit, and Rebelace. Let us say that not one of those stages compare to what is placed in front of you now. After this extended period of experimenting with different genres and working in and out of inconsistent lineups, Calypsis exploded into an enormous behemoth of musical fusion; and here we stand today, ready to blow your mind out the back of your skull. However, that is not to say Calypsis has reached its pinnacle of success... no, there is much more to come.

Calypsis incorporates a sound much reminiscent to modern rock bands such as Jet and Wolfmother, yet their style is a unique blend from a variety of different influences. What you hear is Nick Blekas on vocals and guitar, Matt Arntsen on drums, Eric Rubin on bass, and Justas Lauzadis on guitar. The combination of the four results in a powerhouse sound that has won them first place in two battle of the bands competitions, and has earned them much respect since their recent formation. And with great opportunities on the horizon, the future is bright.
