Members: James O: Lead Vocals/Guitar, Chris Rodriquez: Bass/Backing Vocals Sid Slonaker: Drums/Keys/Backing Vocals
In 2007, it all began again for James O and Sid Slonaker. Being staples in the Denver music scene, they are not strangers to the stage, studio or to each other. Not only are they long time friends but they also have worked together previously. Saucy JAck was one of their projects and together they endured a five-year run and a high level of success. After Saucy JAck dismantled, both James and Sid did side projects with Georgia Holman and Triple 7. At this point, it was time to start something new, and that is what these two guys did.
C4x began playing shows in 2009 as a two-piece. However, after a few gigs in they added Chris Rodriquez to the line up on bass. Chris is also a veteran of the Denver music scene and is especially known for his work with two studio projects Rag Doll and The Riffs on which he played, produced and released on his label Riff Records. Also in 2009 the band received some good media coverage and exposure through Allegany Magazine out of Maryland where they did their first interview. They also received radio play with their song Crash when it debuted on KTCL 93.3 "Locals Only" show. Not only did the band gain a sponsorship from Viper Drums but also has other companies tracking its progress for future endorsement deals. Amongst playing some great venues and local shows C4x also had the opportunity to share the stage with some great touring bands in 2009 as well.
C4x is a straightforward explosive rock n roll power trio. They employ and live by a very DIY code of ethics and attitude. They build their songs up from good simple, solid backbeats and groove combinations with melodic bass lines and brilliant guitar work that flows over the top with driving riffs. As far as songwriting goes, these guys supply more hooks than a bait shop and James' vocals deliver each line with heartfelt emotion and plenty of attitude.
C4x has a defined sound that is all their own.
