Take the spirit of the late 60s, the hunger of the 70's and the intensity of the early 90s and somewhere in there you will find Brew, a Singer-Songwriter/Guitarist from New York City. Particularly inspired by The Jimi Hendrix Experience, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones & The Who at age 13 taught himself how to play guitar. Later at 15 he joined a punk rock- blues band called Holloman, but since has directed on a more solo path. After leaving the band in high school, he would participate in open mics on the Lower East Side of Manhattan and accompany himself with just an old electric guitar and his soaring voice. After drawing attention to himself, being certainly gifted for his young age, he would become a regular performer downtown. Drawing from influences like Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix, The Beatles, Joni Mitchell, Ennio Morricone, The Rolling Stones, Jefferson Airplane to Neil Young, Randy Newman, Fleetwood Mac, Thin Lizzy, Queen, Kate Bush, Prince, Jeff Buckley, Elliot Smith & Ryan Adams, he is a true artist, guaranteed to not disappoint. His style is not so easy to characterize because its always constantly changing but it's unmistakable to tell Brew is a rock-n-roll purist but he also incorporates elements of classical music as well as jazz. He can't really be described in just one genre, he is everything from Art Rock to Alternative to Jazz Fusion. His performances have been described as "heart felt", "raw", "sincere" "intimate", and "electrifying". At times his music is unpredictable, but its always satisfying. Brew can bring out his deepest thoughts with simply his voice and an electric guitar, he has proven to be a great songwriter you dont wanna miss when you're downtown.
