Arborescence is a musical project created by the Belgian composer
Born in 1958, his sister taught him how to play the basic guitar's chords when he was only a child. He played the guitar in his first band when he was twenty. During the eighties, he played and composed for several local rock bands. Two of them even released a 12 inch in 1985 and 1986 : The Hail Mary and Resurrection. After the split of this last band, he decided to stop playing for a while.
In the nineties, he bought some studio material in order to allow him to record his own compositions at home. His first home studio project called Dagorlad, with the help of his friend Aod (vocals & lyrics), released three albums in the Dark Metal style : Incantations (1999 - Mascot Records), The End of the Dark Ages (2002 - The LSP Company) and Herald of Doom (2008 - Shiver records).
Because Philippe likes different styles of music, he wanted to try something different. In 2001, he decided to start a new project called Arborescence influenced by the electronic sounds of his adolescence. The first Arborescence demo was composed and recorded in 2002 . Entitled The Enchanting Tree, this album was a first try, a hybrid creation containing sounds of guitars, synthesizer & drum machine. The second demo Maximum Feedback contains eight long instrumental pieces of Ambient music. The third CD simply called III is dedicated for the fans of relaxing minimalistic music with a touch of melancholia. Synthesizer, guitars and electronic drums are the used instruments. This last demo album was recorded and mixed with passion during Autumn 2011 at Willow studio.
