Against the Armada is a post-hardcore/hardcore band from Mesa Arizona, which was formed in February 2009 under the name The Sidekick. Founding members, Bo Nelson and Randy Jacobson meet in high school playing shows together in different bands. After high school was over both Randy and Bo decided to start a new project. Both were heavily influenced by bands such as Blink 182, Attack Attack!, Pierce The Veil, Pink Floyd, Senses Fail, Underoath, and New Found Glory the two began writing and searching for band members that share their dream.

After a series of member changes, Bo and Randy found the members they had been looking for. Bo stayed on Bass and vocal. Will Randy remained on the drums, and took over marketing for the band. The first person added was Dano Leza AKA Dirty D; Dirty D took over as the Front man and lead vocals. A few months later the guys found an amazing guitar player, named Tyler Anderson, shortly after Tyler took over lead guitar and the bands programming. Lifelong friend Geoff Steven joined the band took over Synth. The guys have played a lot of shows in their lives, but some of the bigger ones consist of, (The Ataris, Kill Paradise, Stereos, Blood on the Dance Floor, Gas Light Anthem, No Bragging Rights, Tie-fighter).

November 2nd 2010 Bo received a call from Mike Nelson, the President of Lucky 6 Records out of Mesa Arizona. Mike proceeded in telling Bo that he wants the band on his label, and would like the band too move down to Mesa, Arizona. November 3rd 2010 the guys load up in the tour van and move too Mesa Arizona. Two days later the band signed too there first label Lucky 6. Around a month later during a band meeting the guys decide to switch their name from The Sidekick to their new stupendous name Against the Armada {ATA}. The guys are a month into recording and are writing new songs every day. ATA is in the recording studio recording their first CD. It will be released before the 2011 Vans Warp Tour. The guys will be following the 2011 Warp Tour selling and promoting their New CD and Merch designs.
