"Robbie frequently gets started but rarely finishes."

That's what I wrote in this space in 2004 when I first posted a couple of songs here, just so I could point a couple of online acquaintances to them. I never intended to do much with this page. I put up a picture of my setup that I took with my cell phone and forgot about the whole thing shortly after.

Things have changed quite a lot since then. I really used to be a rare finisher. But now I finish things all the time. Oh, I start a lot more than I finish, but I finish exponentially more than I used to. I doubt I'll ever be considered prolific. But I don't give up.

I've decided to start using this page more and will probably even upgrade to a pro account so I can get more songs up. It seems like a good idea, I guess.

I love Jesus and much of my music reflects that pretty blatantly. I mean, much of the Songs of Song of Songs EP came straight out of the Bible for crying out loud. Not that I think I have to sing Bible verses to tell people who Jesus is. I just write about stuff that's happened to me or stuff I'd like to happen. Even when I intend to write a "secular" sounding song, he turns up in it somehow. I'm thankful that he's that present in my life, that he keeps just turning up and that he turns up more and more and that he has never ever given up. --August 9, 2008
