2 Phat & the Family Funktion was given birth to by foumding member and Detroit MC-Smith otherwise known as 2 Phat. From the very start of this creation the music has always flourished. With five (5) full length CD's to date and a national tour under their belt, the top of the mountain does not stand far. In the past 2 phat & the crew have toured the U.S.A. with many unique artist, some include but not limited to: Esham, Natas, House of Krazees and many other legendary performers.

"We strive to write music that all walks of the human race can appreciate. The music industry is tough! Unfortunately, today the radio spoon feeds all of us what they want us to hear...We won't make that kind of music. It's just not within our passion"

The group has been compared to such acts as 311, Roots, Beastie Boys,
U.D.S.,among a list of other various style's and genre's.

Together blending Hip Hop, Alternative, Rock and Rap- 2 Phat & the Family Funktion continue to spread like a virus with their infectious flavor and sound of the future.....
