Just a little didly about us

blog post
A new year, a new day.....
A new year, a new day....
A new year, a new day...
A whole new day for us

Yes yes, i know.... it's lyrical genius. Well, being a genius is hard to describe, but I will try describe it's physical entity right now..... we are '1 Tablespoon of Butter,' and we are great. But greatness is not found in a day. Rather, it is found overnight in a blistering blaze of guitar, drums, vocals and sampling. Found in the collaboration of four great musicians/poets to create the gem that is 'Andrew's Monkeys.' A pity we cannot show you all the greatness this album holds. It's searing guitar, pounding drums and gripping vocals. But I can tell you about the band that is '1 Tablespoon of Butter.'

Jono Boland (guitar, drums, vocals) - This is me. I am the glue. I am the key. I am what this band could not be without me. I am this band. Well, this band is more my sideproject from my solo material. Most people just would not understand if an acoustic/screamo artist released this. I am the only thing that prevents this band from going down the musical sewage pipe......that is all.

A-Dawg (vocals, vocals, vocals) - A-Dawg is the brainchild behind 'Andrew's Monkeys' as a concept album. It took just one line to bring it all to the fore, and that one stroke of lyrical genius is captured in the track 'Man-ness.' He delivers his influences from 'the street' to the group to create the vocal sound that is so unique to the group.Lyrically he is second only to Jono Boland in creativity, originality and all other -ality that you can thing of.

Lukd - (guitar, drums, vocals, producing) - Lukd is not only 2nd in the musical creation area, but he is also owner of the infamous Liquid Studios that constantly plays host to the band and our talents. A genius on guitar and more than accomplished on any other instrument, Lukd's forte is his harmony singing. This is no more apparent than on "Rehab 101" where his single word moan "monkeys!!! monkeys!!" opitimises Andrew in his desperation, crying out for his 'monkeys' to save him from his torture.

Jqsh (drums, vocals) - Jqsh is to '1 Tablespoon of Butter' what Adam is to U2. He is the man that is grossly overlooked most of the time, but yet makes just as much of a contribution. He brings originality, no more apparent as his skat solo throughout "What's the Point" and his vocal performance throughout "Rehab 101." Also an accomplish drummer, with his articulate dynamic control demonstrated on "Your's Truly - AB." Also, we wouldn't have a cowbell without him.

Yes, that is just a small insight into the four corners that hold togeather this project. What is to come? Not many know, but all we know is that the best is yet to come.

You stay classy San Diego.
