Who the heck are we...

blog post
Erm, good question. We're basically a two-piece metal band, with Tim Drekkin doing everything but the drums, and Andrew Broome doing percussion and drums and stuff like that. We are both still in high school, but don't take us lightly. We take time to write lyrics and music that isn't as typical as most metal may seem. For example, after listening to Uberdeath and 5-7-0-6, you might belive that the lyrics are full of rage. That's not necessarily the case.

For example, Uberdeath is making fun of Satanists. Though I am a Christian, on the otherhand, I'm not making Christian-specific music. We're who we are. And this concept is evident in 5-7-0-6. The first part of the verse talks about my dream of actually making it in the music world, though I compare it to a dream of getting a girl. The chorus talks about us not having to turn anti-Christian to be into metal, to not have to get a mohawk and dress in pants that are way to tight for us to be musicians, to not have to go against the U.S.A. to get fans (Which, might I add, we are lucky to be living in the greatest country in the world...). 5-7-0-6 is a song about being who you really are, not about what other people want you to be.

And Uberdeath is just fun.

Now the point I'm trying to make is that we spend a lot of time thinking about what each song should be like. How the mood should change from part to part. What we're trying to get across. Why we should do it. Et cetera. In other words, we're not here to make five songs that all sound the same. We're here to give a different look on things.

I, myself (Drekkin), have listened to a kind of metal called War Metal for a long time. It includes the genres of Power Metal, Melodic/Symphonic Metal, Heavy Metal, and Progressive Metal. Can you find ten REALLY popular bands (Ex. Metallica-like status) that are in the U.S.A. that play this kinda shit? Haha. Maybe Kamelot. Or Iced Earth. But their popularity's over in Europe. Not in the U.S.A.

I'm inspired by bands that put a lot of sense and melody into their songs. The best example I can give for this is Blind Guardian. I'm the biggest BG fan alive (And Demons & Wizards). No shit. I take a ton of my inspiration from that band alone, yet in the songs I posted, you probably can't tell. That's what I want.

Andrew, on the other hand, is more inspired by death/grindcore-style metal bands. Which is cool. And great too. 'Cause he's a sick drummer. So hopefully, with both of our styles combined, we can make something that's truely unique, something out of the ordinary. And we hope you can see that.

So to finish this rambling, I'd just like to THANK YOU! for looking at our profile. A lot of bands post stuff on their billboards like, "Buy our new CD" or "Come to our show!" or whatever... Sure we'll do that. But before we do, we'd like to thank you for even LOOKING at this shit. Without that look, you'd never see this, how we feel, who we are, and what we want to do.

You're our fans. And the greatest there are.

We thank you,

-Drekkin
